Joel's Trip to China

Today we went to the Olympic stadium.   The Olympic Stadium was a lot of fun.   We got to go inside the Bird Nest. They were doing a whole bunch of snow games down at the bottom where they did a whole bunch of racing during the Olympics.   The top of the Bird's Nest was open so snow and rain can fall inside.   There was a least probably more than 91,000 seats in the stadium. Yes, there is a zoo in China.  We went to the zoo this morning.  It had a lot of animals.  The animals were cool.  I got to sit on a pony.  Mommy got to hold a snake.  I am scared of snakes, so I didn't hold the snake.  I saw a Panda bear, lizard, mouse, flamingos, hippo, rhino, giraffe, elephant, monkeys, lion, tigers, dalmation, a little dog, a big dog.  Lots of monkeys.  They were howling and howling.  They were very loud.   I went on the great wall of China.  It was fun.  The great wall is in Beijing. Hi! Today we went to the playground. It was fun at the park. I met a friend and we went on the teeter totter. We went and saw a market that had a lot of fish, it had scorpions, sea horses. I think I saw an octopus or two. The scorpions were used in wine for medicine. They put in real scorpions in the wine. Yuck. We saw a pet market. It was very cool. There were dogs, cats, rabbits. For food there were dead flies. The dead flies were yucky. Who would want to eat a dead fly? Today we went to a park. It wasn't a park like you play on, it was a looking at stuff park. I took a lot of pictures on Mommy and Daddy's camera. I took pictures of Kapoc trees, banyon trees, and bonsai bushes. Right now Josiah is playing with a toy phone. He just found a sucker and we took it away from him.

Hi it is me Joel.  Sorry I have not posted for a while.  Here is somw things I have done so far. We went on a airplane. This was Josiah's first time on a airplane.  The playground was fun.   Me and Josiah played with a lot of stuff on the playground.  There was an exercise area and a playing area.   The exercise area was for adults and the playing area was for kids.  We played on the slide a lot.  Me and Josiah went on a bike, we went up and down, left and right, using the muscle stuff, biking on a bike with no wheels.  It was kind of like a really big gym.  It wasn't cold at all.  At least we don't have to bundle up.  We still wear jackets, it is in the 60's.    Yesterday Josiah put on Mommy's shoe and then Mommy put on Josiah's shoe and she didn't even notice and was wondering why the shoe was so small.  We were all laughing like crazy.  She was very funny.    I have my own bed....

Hi everybody!  Here are some things we have done so far.  The fountain show was very cool.  Lots of lights were on and the music was very loud.  That was the funniest part.  The music was too loud for my ears.  Some people got wet in the water because they were standing taking a picture and some of the water was off and then it sprayed really high and all those people got soaked and one person got really soaked when they were trying to run accross the area.  We saw a park today.  The swings were very cool because they were made out of wood, and you could slip off.  That would hurt a lot.  We saw some bamboo in the park.  The bamboo was very cool.  They cut the tops of the bamboo so then it grows better.  We really like the guide.  The van is really cool.   Josiah is a lot of fun.  We blew up balloons today and were playing like crazy, laughing, hiding balloons, and doing a lot of silly stuff.  We got ...

We went and saw the terracotta warriors.  It was a lot of fun seeing the terracotta warriors.  And we saw the silk factory.  That was very cool.  We got a quilt for Mommy and Daddy.  I got a silk worm cocoon.  The silk worm cocoon was very cool.  They get silk from the cocoon.  It takes 4,600 cocoons to make one silk quilt.  The silk blanket was very cool because you could see part of the cocoon on the silk blanket.  The terracotta warriors were very fun.  They were not in one piece when they found them, they had to build them.  Mommy and Daddy were 2 years old when a farmer found one piece of the terracotta warrior when digging a well.  He hid it in his house for one year and then a visitor came and saw it and told the Chinese government.  Then they came and dug up more of the terracotta warriors.  They are from 210 BC.   I have not seen the bird's nest yet, Mrs. Scheafer's class.  We might see it on...
